Oils + Emotions
*dislaimer: this is my personal opinion + story with using plants to support my wellness, please talk to a medical professional if you are seeking medical advice. I am not here to diagnose or cure anyone.
All my tips + tricks for using Essential Oils to support your emotions
rule #1: Trust Yourself
Your body knows what it needs to balance so you may be drawn to one oil more than another, use it, diffuse it, make a roller, get it onto your body.
rule #2: try things out, be open to learning
Everybody is different so you’ll have to see what oils work for you! as you get to know the plants + oils that can support your wellness you will feel empowered to support yourself through anything.
rule #3: give yourself grace
You won’t heal overnight, and sometimes you’ll put in a diffuser blend that has too much patchouli and your whole house stinks, give yourself grace along the healing journey + stay committed to your growth + wellness.
How to use essential oils for emotions:
Inhale - use your diffuser or place a drop in your hands and take deep breathes through your nose
On Your Skin - add a couple drops eo to a carrier oil and apply to your skin, or use a roller for easy use
Your sense of smell is directly connected to the emotion center of your brain. When you smell chocolate chip cookies in the oven you feel safe, warm, happy, it takes you back to childhood, licking the batter while waiting on the cookies in the oven. Smell triggers memory which triggers a thought which triggers an emotion, a physical sensation, like feeling safe and loved at home.
Memories and emotions are held physically in the body, to stay well + heal our bodies we must support our body in releasing stored energy that can cause illness. Learn to let energy flow through your body without getting trapped, hold space for your emotions + thank them for showing up so you have an opportunity to give yourself the attention you need.
